Clojure eXchange 2012 / The Persistent Data Structure Menagerie

Please RSVP for instructions on how to join the event.

Description

PLEASE NOTE! Unfortunately, due to a technical malfunction, we failed to capture Philip's talk. The video you see here is of a talk Philip presented at Skills Matter on a very similar subject! Pervasive immutability is one of Clojure's core language features. But this is only made possible through the use of smart data structures, which allow manipulation and storage of immutable data structures without sacrificing performance or memory consumption. This talk will go through every persistent data structure in clojure's core language, describe the implementation of each, and use examples to show the efficiency gains which are being made over naive copy-on-write immutable data structures.
