WebSharper.Highcharts: SeriesCfg does not allow for advanced per-series configuration

Hi guys, I've asked the same question on Github a couple of weeks ago but got no answer - I'm thinking that maybe you are not monitoring the websharper.highcharts.samples repository, so here goes:

Currently Websharper.Highcharts only allows minimal per-series configuration (only the features common to all series types). This makes it unsuitable for use in non-trivial multi-series chart scenarios, where precise per-series configuration is needed.

On solution could be to change SeriesCfg into a discriminated union, where each (series-type-specific) case would also allow setting the options available in the various PlotOptions...Cfg, as described in the Highcharts documentation.

I would be happy to look into it should you choose to make the Websharper.Highcharts source code available on Github.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion!

A new release will contain it soon. Configuration object types for specific series types are now called like AreaSeriesCfg. They all inherit from SeriesCfg, and an empty constructor implicitly sets the type property (so AreaSeriesCfg() translates to {type: "area"}).

András, it seems that the type is set incorrectly. For example, let x = SplineSeriesCfg() generates the following JavaScript:

          type:spline
         };

instead of:

2

4
5

         var x;
         x={
          type:"spline"
         };

,which results in http://www.highcharts.com/errors/17

Thanks for the report. A new version on NuGet (3.5.5.167) contains a fix for this.
