Historically, the Foundation has always posted a reflection on the previous year as well as a guide of the thoughts of the Board for the year moving forward. However, given the circumstances throughout 2020, our post will be a bit different this year.
http://foundation.fsharp.org/applied_challenge_2021_callApplied F# Challenge 2021 - Call for Judges2020-10-06T16:01:00Z2024-03-29T07:52:56Z
The F# Software Foundation is happy to announce the second Applied F# Challenge! Alan Ball and Kevin Avignon are leading the initiative to begin in early 2021.

The F# Software Foundation is horrified by George Floyd's murder. Our mission statement guides us to grow a diverse community. Demanding social justice and racial equity for Black people is directly in line with our mission. Protestors are righteously demanding an end to the culture of white supremacy and police brutality. We salute those of you continuing to demand racial justice and equality with your voices, your actions, and your donations.
http://foundation.fsharp.org/welcoming_to_2020Welcome to 2020!2020-01-02T02:43:00Z2024-03-29T07:52:56Z
Happy New Year from the F# Software Foundation!

The New Year is traditionally a time to reflect on the year past, and make plans for the year ahead. As we recently started to publish quarterly updates to keep you all regularly updated on what we have been up to, for this post, we will combine both.
http://foundation.fsharp.org/results_applied_fsharp_2019Results of Applied F# Challenge 20192019-05-31T18:25:00Z2024-03-29T07:52:56Z
The Applied F# Challenge is an international contest organized by F# Software Foundation to share and promote in-depth technical publications and code projects that demonstrate significant technical value and unique practical relevance for F#.
F# is a general purpose open-source programming language. It originates from Microsoft Research and is used by many engineers across the globe. We primarily hear about people using F# for web development, analytical programming, and scripting. While those are perfect use cases for F#, there are many more brilliant and less covered scenarios where F# has demonstrated its strength. For example, F# is used in quantum computing, cancer research, bioinformatics, IoT, and other domains that are not typically mentioned as often.

The goal of the Applied F# Challenge is to publicize and promote in-depth technical publications and example code projects that demonstrate significant technical value and unique practical relevance for F#. Your submissions will help the F# Software Foundation to educate engineers across the globe about how F# can be used in advanced, innovative, and mission-critical scenarios.
http://foundation.fsharp.org/welcome_to_2019Welcome to 2019!2019-01-02T02:14:00Z2024-03-29T07:52:56Z
Happy New Year from the F# Software Foundation!

2018 has been a great year for the F# community, and 2019 is looking to be even better. Membership in the F# Software Foundation has continued its steady growth, now with over 2,600 members. The Mentorship Program had another successful round. The Community Diversity Program grew, with more conferences offering tickets through the Foundation. We launched the F# Community Forums, and have much more planned for the next year.
http://foundation.fsharp.org/announcing_the_community_forumsAnnouncing the F# Community Forums2018-05-11T23:22:00Z2024-03-29T07:52:56Z
One of the main goals of the F# Software Foundation has always been to help bring the F# community together and foster better communication. While the Slack team has been a fantastic mechanism for Members of the Foundation to communicate, it does have quite a few limitations. Members have been requesting an alternative for persistent communication for a long time.

We are happy to announce that we have setup the F# Community Forums for use by everybody in the F# Community.
http://foundation.fsharp.org/2018_board_of_trustees_campaign2018 Board of Trustees Campaign2018-05-11T00:32:00Z2024-03-29T07:52:56Z
The 2018 Board of Trustees election is underway!
