No, it's not I'm afraid. No real reason except that when we validated the source release the fsi.exe it built did not function correctly - I think it was a minor problem, but we didn't want to delay the release, and decided just to omit the building of fsi.exe instead.

The source is also a bit of a mess, though an awful lot has been cleaned up recently. What remains handles some special cases for Ctrl-C, WinForms and the use of fsi as a remote process from Visual Studio.

We would VERY much like to have a proper API that gives a way to host the environment (without needing to recompile the source). We have a few motivating examples for that - e.g we would like to augment the interactive SPiM environment with F# as a scripting language.
