Yes, I think this is perfect. We don't want to seem like a clique :-)

And anyway we get to collect all those personal stats which we can sell to a data mining company for a fortune, right? How do we split the dividends? (Just kidding!!!!!)

Thanks Don,

FYI, for everyone, I've opened the registered status as appropriate.

  • I went through all blogs and made certain that THC blogs that were private did not have access from registered users.
  • I went through all forums and made certain that all THC forums had appropriate access as well.
  • THC galleries and files are also set appropriately. NOTE: Files are all private to hubFS contributors only. I'll wait for Scott Isaacs to get the CS license installed and I'll raise this on a separate thread, but we should discuss briefly, policy on uploads of user content. It should be contributor upload only with a public and a private area so that content can be posted for the appropriate groups and the public as needed.
  • I double checked that anonymous posting can occur and there is one setting on forums that was improperly set, so that is corrected as well.
  • I also disallow local and remote upload from registered users, i.e. attachments are disallowed for the moment. I don't want to moderate content, but I also don't want to discourage code sharing, so we'll discuss this as we move forward.

Now we can let people register and maintain their own identities.
