i hope this is an appropriate use of this forum - i noticed that VS2005 builds .fsx files into .exes in the same way it builds .fs files. unfortunately, at least with the file assoc i have setup:

fsxfile="c:\Program Files\FSharp-1.9.1.18\bin\fsi.exe" --quiet --exec %1 -- %*

...the layout of Sys.argv differs between when you invoke a .fsx script from the shell and when you run the .exe. as i result, i have found the following snippet useful to try and get the same argv from both.

let sanitize_argv () =

let argv =

let keep_args = ref false

Array.filter (fun s -> (if s = "--" then keep_args := true); !keep_args) Sys.argv

argv.(0) <- Sys.argv.(0) // overwrite "--" with script name

argv

if there's a standard/builtin way of doing this, let me know :)
