This is great news for us who've adopted F#. F# already has, in Visual Studio, a first rate development environment, but with full backing from Microsoft, I expect it will go to a whole new level.

The downside is that I expect we'll be seeing less of Don in the forums :) btw. congratulations to Don and the F# team for all the hard work that you've done in designing F#, and keeping the momentum going.

I discovered F# a few months ago, and since then have made it my primary programming language (moving from Python & Java). I have found it to be a great language for developing simple scripts or programming "toy" implementations of algorithms. I've also found it to be a great language for building up real applications b/c of the ability to leverage everything already existing for .NET.

I can't overstate how excited I am by this news!

That's really tremendous news. Ironing out the Visual Studio quirks and adding proper form designer support would be great.

I do hope Don's constant innovation with new features wont stop though...
