I am working on a generic plugin library that can be used with any other library/application out there. One issue I'm coming across is how to check if a type (loaded from an assembly) is implementing an interface. I'd like to do this without creating an instance just to do a typecheck. I've written the following, but it only works for instances of objects.

I'm just wondering if there is an F#-y way of checking if a Type implements an interface. I know how to do it in C# (System.Type.IsAssignableFrom(typeToCheck)), but I'm wondering if there isn't some shorthand F# method I can use instead.

EDIT: One more question -- is there an equivalent of typeof() in F#? <-- Figured this out. I was forgetting the () around type type, which is why it woudn't work.

EDIT2: Well, I went with IsAssignableFrom(). Initially, I went with GetInterfaces(), but then realized I wanted to allow subclasses as well.
