Hi Frank, nice site! Not sure about Azure, but I recall that IIS has a setting to disable recycling of the application pool process that is running a site.

I had this problem with AppHarbor, this is not related to the fact that you're using piglets on that particular page. The app is not receiving many visitors so every new one would wait for a "cold start" since the app's worker role has been recycled (not sure if this is standard IIS behavior or a measure enforced on purpose to manage hosting several sites on the same VM).

The solution is to ping your app every 5 minutes or so using a service like StatusCake, a script running on your machine or an Azure WebJob. I use StatusCake and toggle the real browser option on.
