Actually looking down the previous problems I notice (a completely unrelated question about installing)...that the questioner was referered to.

[link:websharper.apphb.com]

This DOES have a vsix file...I wont install it, as it's an alpha.

I suspect the VSIX installer at www.websharper.com is just wrong?

The right package to install is always on [link:websharper.com,] please use that and NOT the file from the AppHarbor site. VSIX is an installer format used to deliver extensions and templates to Visual Studio.

Once you run the VSIX installer, you should restart Visual Studio and go to File / New Project / Templates / Visual F# / WebSharper to see the templates that were installed. You can then use these to start new WebSharper projects.

The zip has folders
packages
ProjectTemplates

then
license.txt
extension.vsixmanifest
[content_types].xml

I wondered if I had to install it via the package manager...but I'm stuck

Brilliant...a bite...

Feel free to call me stupid (you wont be the 1st).

how do I run the VSIX installer?
The link is a zip file (not that surprising).
There is no vsix in there....unlike the other link.
There is nothing to double click and install....

My conclusion at the moment is, someone released a new version and messed up the installer.

Ahh, I am sorry, misunderstood you. Please rename the ZIP to VSIX and try to run that way, not sure why it gets labelled as a ZIP, will look into the server configs.
