If understood your question, I think CodeDom implements what you want already. There is a class called the Microsoft.CSharp.CSharpCodeProvide that can generate both compiled assemblies and source code. There's a sample on MSDN that explains how to do it:

The code dom object model is not that great, in my opinion, but it will definitely be quicker than writing your own.

My project involves a conversion from one (source) language to another (target) language. I have written a parser that builds the object model in the source language, and it is very useful, I can do all sorts of nifty things with it.
However, ultimately I would like to convert it to the target language. I envision this as a sweep over the source language object model, generating the object model for the target language, followed by an unparse (i.e. prettyprint) of the generated target structure. In my opinion this is a cleaner solution than just generating the target program from the source tree.
The target language right now is C#. So, my question basically is: Does anyone have an object model for C#, along with a prettyprinter (or generator based on CodeDOM) that I can use as the target for my conversion? Writing this object model is a time consuming task that I would rather not have to do.
Any comments are most welcome.
